The Harry Potter marathon

As you have probably noticed, it has been quite still around here but that's because since Monday night I was at a Harry Potter marathon until 2 o'clock on Wedneysday night at the cinema. I have to say it was an amazing experience seeing all those movies together with many other Harry Potter fans. Also have to admit that after a few movies, I did doze off a little but luckily didn't really sleep. Thanks to some energy drinks I kept myself awake, the last bottle really helped me going through the last one, I would have been awake anyway for the last movie because that's the movie that most people like me really came for of course. I enjoyed every minute of the marathon and I just loved the last movie. I did walk away with an empty feeling because an amazing era has ended now, a chapter of my childhood. I just can't believe that it's over but like Daniel Radcliffe and J.K. Rowling said during the world premiere in London, "we will carry these stories through our lives." .

The highlights for me in the last movie were (WARNING : MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS) :

-The kiss that Ron & Hermione shared, I was like yes, finally! I find them so cute and adorable together, I just went like "ahwww, so cute!". People in the cinema all applauded when this scene came.
-The epic battle, no explanation needed, one of my favourite parts was when Neville finally cut the snake, everyone was applauding once again during that scene in the cinema.
-The scene where Snape dies and he gives some tears to Harry so that he can see all the memories of Snape. If you have read the books, then you know that Snape always had a crush on Lily Potter. When Harry discovers all of this, he feels devasted of course. Alan Rickman did an outstanding performance in the last movie but he was amazing in all the Harry Potter movies really, he is an amazing actor!
-The end of the epic battle, where you see all the damage and seeing the people who didn't make it through the battle, it was so sad seeing the family Weasley mourning over Fred and it was sad to see Remus and Tonks laying next to each other with almost holding each others hand.
-The epilogue, do I need to say more? It was so cute seeing them 19 years older and being with their children, ahwww. I just had a big smile on my face when I saw Ron & Hermione together with their children but Harry & Ginny were cute too of course. And it was so funny to see Draco a lot older, with a beard and all and he had a cute family of his own as well.

Some moments I liked:

-The moment where Hermione changes into Bellatrix LeStrange, that was so awesome to see, haha.
-The escape with the dragon, it was beautiful to see them flying above such a stunning landscape.
-The speech of Neville Longbottom where everyone thinks that Harry Potter is dead.
-The amazing trio being together when the battle is over and seeing their beautiful friendship.

I would say, go and see the last Harry Potter movie! I give this movie a 9.5/10 or perhaps just a 10+, haha.
It was pretty cool to see the last movie in 3D as the other ones were all 2D. Especially the part where Voldemort dies, you see all those pieces of him flying in the air and going through you. It was also amazing how the Harry Potter title went into your face in the beginning.

The Harry Potter marathon experience :

There we were standing and waiting to get in, everyone first got a wristband which allowed everyone to go outside and inside the cinema and free access to the toilets. Then we got a survival bag sort of with a small toothbrush and toothpaste in it, plus a fresh mint, candy, a mini deodorant, refreshing tissues and a thing to clap with which many people used during epic scenes in the last movie.

Before we were going to the first movie, we all received a free "Burn" drink which is an energy drink. Also, before my sibling headed off to the cinema, we bought some drinks at a supermarket and some snacks because you never know, right.

During the breaks we received popcorn, a chocolate bread or a croissant + an ice mocca/capuccino drink, sandwiches and there were 3 options for the sandwich choice, a tic tac box and Harry Potter posters. I first had a Harry Potter poster but then a kind guy exchanged his Ron Weasley poster for my Harry Potter poster, thank you! They actually wanted to have Voldemort but they were okay with my Harry Potter so yay! And everyone also got a cute small poster with the trio in a Lego form (you have those Harry Potter Lego games you know).

Furthermore, there was a lot of media, journalists which was pretty cool to see. You can see a news clip of the Harry Potter marathon over here Harry Pottermarathon van 26u . I saw some girls who wore Harry Potter capes and Harry Potter ties and they were being interviewed. Those girls looked amazing, I would like to have a cape and a tie as well now, haha. At least I have a wand, yay, LOL.

And oh yes, I also met Eline from http://www.elinefauconnier.com, it was great to meet her! Check out her website for sure, she makes amazing photos but she also writes blogs. She wrote a blog post about the Harry Potter marathon as well over here http://www.elinefauconnier.com/blog-2/ .

As last, here are some atmosphere photos :

The survival bag :

My wand and Harry Potter 3D glasses that didn't even work, luckily they didn't cost much, I will just keep those glasses for fun. At least we luckily had 3D glasses from the cinema itself. :

The Tic Tac box that we received :

The many Harry Potter marathon stamps that we received on our hands + the wristband :

The Harry Potter posters (unfortunately the one from Ron Weasley is way too big to hang up in my room, haha but still nice to have) :

Have any of you seen the last movie already and if so, what did you think of it? Or if not, are you planning to see it?

Xoxo

I didn't read the spoilers, since I have to see the movie myself first.

Leuk verslag!
