Pukkelpop is cancelled ...

Pukkelpop is in deep mourning. We truly sympathise with the families and friends of the victims.
Words are not enough. We have struggled with the decision to continue the festival. Therefore we have decided to cancel Pukkelpop 2011.
What has happened is very exceptional and could not have been predicted. We are deeply moved by all the spontaneous support the festival goers and the organisation have received.
We call on all Pukkelpoppers to return home calmly. Extra buses and trains have been organised to bring everybody home.
Undoubtedly many of you have many practical questions. That is why we ask you to direct them to info@pukkelpop.be.
We ask everyone to understand that this decision was extremely difficult to make.

I really understand their decision, it's really terrible what happened. I just can not imagine how it must have been like to experience a chaos like that. It's a total nightmare and a real tragedy. That day is a black day in the history of Belgium.
My thoughts go out to the victims of Pukkelpop and my deepest condolences to the families/friends who have lost their loved ones. May they rest in peace.

Begrijpelijke keuze!
Ik vind het een goede keuze om het af te schaffen, echt heel erg wat daar is gebeurd!
Verschrikkelijk wat er daar is gebeurd! Krijg echt kippenvel als ik de beelden zie...
Ik vind het echt ongelooflijk wat er daar is gebeurd. Ik hoop wel dat ze het gaan doorzetten, want dat zou wel jammer zijn...

Ik snap dat ze het dit jaar hebben afgeschaft, maar ik hoop echt dat het volgend jaar wel weer door gaat.

Echt vreselijk wat daar gebeurd is!!! Wat de natuur toch allemaal kan, hou je niet voor mogelijk... :(
