Just saw Elle Magazine (www.twitter.com/ELLEmagazine) tweeting this and I just had to share this with you all on my blog because of the suit that Leighton Meester is wearing.

What: The Gossip Girl actress makes a suit look sexy at Cipriani Wall Street for the 2010 Gotham Independent Film Awards last night.

Always one to take fashion risks on the red carpet, Leighton Meester didn’t disappoint Monday night at this year’s Gotham Independent Film Awards. To present the inaugural Fest Genius Audience Award with The Hurt Locker star Anthony Mackie, the style savvy 24-year old chose a suit from iconic designer Thom Browne’s first womenswear collection—and she was the first lucky girl to wear it. Meester played up the menswear effect by keeping her accessories simple (purple Ferragamo pumps and Bulgari jewelry), her makeup classic (a smoky grey eye and nude lip), and her hair down in loose waves. And apropos of all the menswear and androgynous looks we’re seeing everywhere, the Museum at FIT opens His & Hers today, an exhibit dedicated to exploring the relationship between men’s and women’s fashions over the years.
We love this look on the red carpet for its unpredictability. Do you think this trend is red-carpet worthy?

Ik vind dat Leighton alles kan hebben, dus dit ook. Maar zelf zou ik het niet kopen.
@Anne & Anne Ja, dat is waar, ze kan zowat alles hebben.
Ik zou het zelf niet doen maar ze staat er mee; Toch vind ik jurkjes mooier.
@Hetty Ja, ze staat er inderdaad mee en zou zelf ook liever een jurkje aandoen, zeker op zo een speciaal evenement.
