Scream 4 is out and many people think it might be not good because it's already the 4th movie but I have to say that I found it surprisingly good. So here is what I thought of it. WARNING: SPOILERS ALERT.


The introduction: This was really well done, they were already misleading you here (even though I had the feeling already that it wasn't the start of the movie yet). You discover that you are watching a movie in a movie in another movie. They were calling it  a Twilight Zone the girls in the movie.


Then it starts, two girls get killed when they are all alone at home, how typical, right. And so the investigation starts, we see all the characters from before such as Dewey who is married to Gale (who was a journalist before) but also some new ones who work for the cops as well. We see for example Adam Brody who plays the role of Detective Hoss who we all know from the serie "The O.C." as Seth Cohen.



It's 10 years later so this means also new high school students such as Kirby who is played by the famous actress Hayden Panettiere who is known for her cheerleader role in the serie "Heroes", this made the movie extra fun for me as I used to watch that serie. I have to say that the short haircut actually fits her. She plays the friend of two other girls who are Olivia (Marielle Jaffe) and Jill (Emma Roberts). The last girl plays a big part later on in the movie.

In this movie, a very important character that we all know from the previous "Scream" movies comes back and that is Sidney. She comes back to her hometown Woodsboro, the town where she experienced all the horror from the past. She is back with a book but the comeback that she hoped for turns out to become a nightmare because the ghostface also known as the murderer has returned and who is it?


So a couple of homicides pass by, one victim after another one. In the middle of the movie, there is a "Stab" marathon and just like the original "Stab" movie, ghostface crashes the party and almost kills someone there who has a mainrole in this movie. All the high school students of the movie club were at the event and the movie club is run by Justin (Justin Brandt) and Charlie (Rory Culkin), the last guy also plays an important role later on in the movie. He has a crush on Kirby but sooner or later you find something something out about him that you didn't expect.


What I liked about this movie is that it wasn't serious all the time, there was humour in it too just like the previous movies. Like for example when Deputy Perkins and his collegue Detective Hoss are in the car watching over the girls, Deputy Perkins says "be right back" and then he says "I know this one, you're not supposed to say that, are you?" and I believe Detective Hoss says then "new decade, new rules", haha.
And one of my favourite quotes is one by Sidney when she says "You forgot the one rule of a remake, don't fuck with the original". Just awesomeness, haha and so true actually.


What I thought of the ending? Well, I won't say much but I have to say that I was really surprised by the ending and I'm glad that the person who killed everyone was someone I totally didn't expect.
I really liked this sequel movie, it was not bad for a sequel movie I found.
