Let's talk - Gossip Girl - 5.07 - The Big Sleep No More

WARNING : SPOILERS ALERT!

Last week we left off with Chuck apologizing to Blair for everything he has ever done to her in the past such as treating her like property and for giving up on them when she never did.

The episode opens with Blair awaking from a dream where Chuck acts like a total gentlemen. She has had these kinds of dreams before after Chuck apologized to her last week because she just can't believe that he is all good now. She goes with Dorota to the parc to feed the ducks like she does often and she sees Chuck there by coincidence. Chuck was rescueing a duck by the pond and got photographed for it even. Blair can't believe her eyes and tells him that it's her area, they talk a little bit and with a friendly smile he walks away with his dog.

”Don’t try to fool me with your puppy-dog eyes!”

Blair is fully convinced that he is still the old Chuck Bass and that he hasn't changed at all after his apology from last week but Dorota says to her that he maybe actually IS good now but she is still not convinced about it. Blair goes to some benefit party where you have to wear a special white mask and everyone goes into different rooms depending on the card they received. She sees that Chuck has an ace and takes an ace from a set of cards that she took with her. She follows Chuck into a room so that they are all alone and tries to seduce him with all sorts of tricks that used to make him go crazy and he then all the sudden kisses her. Dorota has followed Blair at the benefit party and sees them kissing. First you think that Chuck actually did it sponteanously but we later discover that Dorota texts Chuck and says "thank you". Chuck explains Nate that he had to kiss her to set her free, to let her believe that he was still the old Chuck so that she can go on with the wedding and choose Louis still.

Then we have the whole Nate, Diana and Charlie thing going on. After Charlie kissed Nate last weeked, Nate couldn't stop thinking about her and tells her that he thinks there is chemistry between them, he doesn't know i he wants to be with Diana still as she isn't serious enough about Nate & her. He wants to be exclusive and it seems like he isn't getting what he is looking for from her so he goes to Charlie and says that he might be wanting something else now. Charlie tells him not talk to her anymore as he brings her in danger of getting fired because Diana is his lover and their boss. Diana also forbids Charlie of getting any closer to Nate but Charlie explains to her boss that it was all Nate's doing. To make it even more clear to Nate, she tells him that she has a boyfriend even but he doesn't believe her and thinks she is just making it up. Nate & Diana talk at the office later, they discuss the whole thing about being exclusive or not, she proposes to him that he can take a few days off and that she will go to Paris anyway. She doesn't want to lose her right hand man because he is the best that she's got. Nate gets a text from Charlie if he wants to be her date at the benefit party (Diana even  said to her that she had to ask him as a date even though she had forbid her to have any contact with Nate). Nate says yes to her invitation but sees Diana at the benefit party and asks her what she is doing here because  she was going to Paris she said. Diana says that she didn't go because she wanted to be with Nate, he says it's sweet but that he is with someone else and she knows that and she knows that it's Charlie.

An interesting person shows up in this episode and that is the ex of Charlie or should we say Ivy now. Serena is the one who meets him first in NYC, she meets him casually on the street and helps him on the way to his interview for a certain company which is the company of his ex Ivy. He even asks Serena if he knows any Ivy and she says no of course. She has no clue whatsoever who this is and think it's just a friendly stranger who she seems to like. In the meanwhile Diana is asking her to do something for NY Inspectator which involves Max (the ex of Ivy) but she doesn't go through it because she thought he was a good guy. She doesn't want to write blogs at all anymore for NY Inspecator because she didn't like the feeling of hurting a person like Max. Diana is scheming something at the benefit party, she tells Max who is invited at the benefit party as well that Serena is the one in a golden dress and that she isn't hard to miss but of course it's Ivy who is in the golden dress. Serena on the other hand is waiting in another room for Max because they had a date sort of. She waits and waits but he doesn't show up because he is looking for a girl in the golden dress. Ivy and Max are both in the same room, Ivy thinks she sees Nate but turns out to kiss her ex Max underneath the mask and he says "Ivy?".  She takes him out on the street and they have chat, she is wondering what he is doing here and he says he had a job interview here. He is wondering what she is doing in NYC as well, she says she misses him but it's too late for him because she dumped him. He also tells her that he was going to have a date with Serena and is surprised that she knows Serena. She wants to explain him everything but it's too late for him and leaves. Diana all of the sudden is behind her and Ivy realises that her boss Diana did all of this and that she know that her ex Max was there all the time and was the guy under the mask that she was kissing. She is all upset and on top of that she gets fired by Diana. She had made Ivy clear to stay away from Nate but she didn't listen, even though she really did try to stay away from him. Serena and Charlie meet up in the late evening and Charlie asks her how her date went, Serena replies that he never showed up and that he stood her up. Ivy is a little relieved it seems but is still afraid that her real identity will be released by Diana soon as Diana took a picture of her for "Gossip Girl" when they were on the street and said what will I say "Ivy or Charlie? Oh well, it doesn't really matter" and leaves Ivy speechless and scared behind.

Some minutes later Serena calls Diana and agrees to blog on NY Inspectactor to take "Gossip Girl" down because she saw that "Gossip Girl" posted something about Charlie and that it's the same thing that she always says and that she is ready to bring "Gossip Girl" down. Diana is looking forward to work with Serena on this.

As last, it's not going that well with Dan's novel "Inside", he skypes with his father and Lily but then suddenly is off the map. His father Rufus is worried about him and finds him a day later or so in his room at the loft in Brooklyn. Rufus gives a good speech about how his band wasn't successful in the beginning either but that thanks to 1 person who kept on talking about their music to others, they became successful and got more and more fans. He tells Dan to not give up because if he does, he will never find that one person who will make him a big hit. Isn't that a sweet conversation between a father and his soon? Ahwww. Dan mentally prepares himself and tries it again but if you have seen the promo of next week, he seems kind of drunk in a scene, this will promise for a lot of trouble as expected from "Gossip Girl".

In the end of this episode there are some exciting cliffhangers. When Diana and Nate have made it up again, she calls someone. We discover that Diana has been working for Nate's grandpa this whole time, William tells her over the phone that she did a fine job rebuilding Nate's image and that he is right where he wants him to be. Diana tells him that Serena is also right where she needs to be and that it's always a pleasure working with him.

Max, the ex of Ivy is still at the benefit party sitting alone at a table and googling "Gossip Girl" on his phone and reads a blogpost about Charlie Rhodes who looks a lot like Ivy. He raises up and leaves. Can you say trouble and exciting?

Ik wil Gossip Girl echt weer zien, ik heb het nooit van het begin gezien, nooit verder dan seizoen drie, ze stopte ineens met uitzenden. Chuck is echt handsome, ik blijf het maar zeggen. xD
