Today, the newest movie of The Twilight Saga "Breaking Dawn - Part 1 was released in the cinemas, at least here, in some countries it comes later. When I came into the cinema room, the room was almost totally full,  luckily I was able to find a free spot.

I have read all the 4 books of Twilight and so I was very curious how the last one would be, the first part then. I liked the last book the best because of the things that happen in it such as the big changes of Bella. I was also curious how the wedding and the honeymoon would be portrayed in the movie.


The movie opens with Jacob receiving a letter that he isn't too happy about, he received the wedding invitation of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. He goes crazy and turns into a werewolf as expected. After that, we see other people that have received the wedding invitation as well and their reaction to it such as Bella's mother and father. Her father doesn't really know what to think of it and her mother well just as mother is she reacts very excited and happy. Bella is mentally preparing herself and trying to walk in her wedding shoes, she even asks Alice if she can't just go barefoot (funny moment there) and Alice says no, of course not. As usual, Alice has organised the whole thing as she likes doing those things but Bella finds it all a little too much, she gets sent home by Alice to get her beauty sleep for the big day tomorrow.



The wedding. We see Bella surrounded by Alice & Rosalie, Rosalie offers help and does the hair of Bella. In this part you suddenly see that Bella & Rosalie are bonding and are better friends now, then we hear a funny comment by Alice "Ah, weddings bring people together", haha. It made the whole audience in the cinema room laugh. Bella's parents come to visit and Bella's father notices all the graduation hats on the wall, the mother finds it cool and original and the father finds it kind of strange, haha. The contrast between Bella's parents is kind of funny. Bella's mother comes in the room where Bella is and is touched to see her daughter getting ready to marry and looking all beautiful, her parents give her something old for the wedding, a family heirloom. Bella goes down to the aisle with her father, she gets a little nervous but in the end all is good and they are married. Nobody knows where they are going to for their honeymoon, except The Cullens of course. Funny part during the wedding are the speeches by the way, there was some good laughing amongst the audience but the speech of Edward is very sweet. Edward says in short that it's great to have found someone who accepts you for who you are and then he proposes a toast to his beautiful bride Bella.

The honeymoon. Bella and Edward are on their way to the location of their honeymoon, Bella has no clue whatsoever where they are going to. The first place you see is Rio de Janeiro but Bella thinks this is their honeymoon location until Edward says that this is just the first stop. They go with a speedboat to an island called island Esmee, Carlisle bought it once for Esmee but gives it as a present to them. Bella can't believe her eyes because it's so beautiful. Bella and Edward are the bedroom and look at each other with joy and happiness, Bella is a little bit nervous because these might be her last human minutes. She asks Edward for some human minutes and the next moment you see her doing all the normal human things such as brushing your teeth, combing your hair, putting water on her face and feeling her front face and even shaving her legs, that was quite a funny scene, lots of laughing in the cinema room again. Then she plucks up her courage and goes to the sea where Edward is already naked and swimming, she undresses herself and swims to him, they have a romantic and sexy moment in the sea. There is a sweet moment where Edward says while looking at her in the sea "you are so beautiful". Next scene you see them making love in the bedroom and as we all know, vampires are extremely strong and he breaks the whole bed, haha. The next morning the pillows are wrecked as well and feathers are flying around Bella's face. The next days there is some more kissing but Edward decides to not make love anymore when he sees the bruises that he caused her during their sexy moments, he doesn't want to hurt her anymore even though he can't help it. Bella of course is pissed off about his decision and does everything she can to seduce him such as wearing a sexy lingerie piece that Alice packed in her suitcase, LOL. Edward laughs at her attempts to seduce him but of course he can't stop looking at her and he finds it quite hard to restrain himself but succeeds anyway. He does everything he can to not make love such as playing chess with her, haha. One morning though, Bella wakes up from a dream and says that it was a good one and wishes that it was true (even though she cries, probably because it was such a good dream). She begs him to make love with her and finally Edward gives in and gives Bella what she wants and they make love again. The next morning, Edward is gone hunting and we see Bella having a big crave for food and cooks chicken, then suddenly she runs off to the the toilet and vomits. Edward catches her doing that but she doesn't want him to see that, he tells her that he would be there for her in sickness and health. Bella asks how long it has been since their wedding and he says 14 days, Bella admits that she has been late with her period. She gets a phonecall from none other than Alice as Alice can see the future, she asks if everything is OK, Bella says to her that she thinks she is pregnant. She gets Carlisle on the phone, Bella makes a funny comment by asking is it possible for a vampire to be in shock. Edward takes over the phone and asks if it's even possible to get pregnant, he says he doesn't know but that they have to get back as fast as possible to the main land to find it out.

Back on the mainland, Bella's father receives a phonecall that they extended their trip and that Bella caught a virus, Jacob says she is sick and goes directly to the Cullens to figure out what's going on with Bella. He shows up at the Cullens and asks Carlisle straight forward what's going on, he hears a voice saying "Jake, is that you?", he then realises that she is there and goes upstairs. He finds the whole Cullen clan upstairs and sees that Rosalie is protecting Bella by standing in front of her. Bella says it's okay, he sees her and says that she looks terrible. Bella has become very skinny and has dark circles around her eyes, just like a person who has an eating disorder, quite scary to be honest to look at really, the makeup artists did a good job to make her look like a sick and skinny person. He asks what's wrong and as Bella gets up, he sees that she is pregnant, he gets angry and walks to Edward and blames it all on him. Edward does tell him that he didn't know it was possible. Jacob walks away and tells the wolfpack that Bella is pregnant from Edward, the wolfpack wants to kill Bella and the creature before it's born. Jacob won't allow it as he cares too much for Bella. They want to kill the creature because it's a danger to everyone but Jacob goes into a fight with Sam and tells him that he is the grandson of the chief and that he won't allow it. Jacob forms his own army and gets unexpectedly help from Seth & Leah even though he never asked for it and he wants to do it on his own. Jacob becomes slowly sort of a friend of the Cullens but he only does it for Bella, to save her life. The Cullens do appreciate his help in any case.


The birth of the creature. It's almost time for Bella to give birth to her baby, in the meanwhile thanks to an idea of Jacob she keeps herself strong with blood shakes because before that the baby was starving her out and becoming way too skinny, it was quite scary to look at, she actually looked like a person with anorexia, the makeup artists did a good job making her look very weak. The wolfpack is surrounding the Cullens house but Jacob distracts them by talking to them and they are all angry at him when they discover that two Cullens have been able to escape and that he has been playing with them during their conversation. Jacob goes back and gets thanked by the Cullens. Back in the house, Rosalie tells Jacob that Bella has already picked out names and that she wants him to hear them including Edward. If it's a boy it will E.J. which stands for Edward Jacob, LOL and if it's a girl, then Renesmee because she wanted to do something with the names of her mom and Edward's mom. Jacob doesn't know what to say about the names but you can tell he finds it a bit odd, haha. Edward is all sweet and he says oh I think it's great, very original and unique. Bella gets a blood shake offered but right at that moment, she collapses and the process has started, the birth of the baby.  We find her on a laying on a surface, surrounded by Carlisle, Edward, Jacob and some others, she is in a lot of pain and demands that they get the creature out as fast as possible. They cut open her stomach and some minutes later the baby is there, she holds the baby for a few seconds but is taken away again out of safety. Jacob then realises that Bella isn't moving anymore and is staring into nothing. He tries to reanimate her but nothing works, he says to Edward that he won't kill him because he should just live with the fact that he made Bella die because that's even a worse punishment. Jacob walks off and cries outside, Leah & Seth see him cry and behind them is a wolf from the wolfpack, he sees it too and runs off. In the meanwhile the wolfpack knows that Bella died. Jacob raises up and decides to kill Renesmee but something extraordinary happens, he imprents on Renesmee right before he is about to kill her who is in the arms of Rosalie. He kneels down behind the chair where Rosalie is sitting and goes back outside, he sees the whole wolfpack who is ready to kill Resnesmee and the Cullens. The Cullens first try to fight with them but when Jacob turns into a wolf, Edward translates his thoughts to the rest. He tells everyone that Jacob has imprented on someone and that the wolfpack can't hurt anyone if someone of their wolfpack has imprented on someone,  it's their absolute law. The wolfpack leaves and Jacob and the Cullens + Renesmee are safe. Edward & Jacob share a moment together by looking at each other and they go back in. Before the whole fight, Edward tried to save Bella's life by biting her everywhere, turning her into a vampire was his last idea to save her. He thinks it didn't work and they all grief about Bella's death, they comb her hair, close her eyes to let her rest in peace. During this scene you see her blood becoming all different, her skin, her face and her hands becoming normal again. Her hair becomes different and beautiful. And if you have read the books, you know that she survives and opens her eyes but with the eyes are red. Bella is a vampire. There part 1 stops, just like I thought it would be.



What did I think of this movie? Well, I did like the fact that they have put some humour in it like the speeches at the wedding, Alice says for example that Bella should now put away her fear for fashion, lol. Then there is a scene at their honeymoon location where the caretakers sees the bedroom all trashed and destroyed and they are like what happened in here, a storm?

I like the makeup effects and how they did a good job making Bella look like a sick person, they really did that well Her cheekbones & her eyes were well done and her skin was even paler than normal.

Then there is a scene where you can see and hear the wolfpack have a discussion, they did that pretty good with the voices, it was also kind of weird to see them talk though, haha but it was still fun to see  how they were talking each other.

Furthermore I had two tearjerker moments, the moment where Edward says that her present has just arrived and she is like what does a present do outside and she sees that it's Jacob, she is all happy and they hug, ahwww. She then says that everything is perfect now.
Second moment is when Edward apparently can hear the baby's thoughts who is in Bella's stomach and they are smiling and so happy together, such a cute and sweet moment.

I would give this movie a 7.5/10. Even though I shouldn't be comparing it with Harry Potter, I do have to say that I prefer Harry Potter. It's more special to me and there is nothing as great as magic, friendship and love. That's the only thing I wanted to say, I still like Twilight.

All by all, I still liked this movie and it was fun to see Twilight in the cinemas again. I'm really curious how the last part will be portrayed and how Bella will be as a vampire, I could see that she was as beautiful as the other Cullens already. Last but not least, I'm very curious how Renesmee will be all grown up.
